Imori pond is one of the most scenic spots in Myoko Kogen.
It is famous for the mirror like water that perfectly reflects Mt Myoko. It is an amazing photo spot.
Imori pond is situated in the Ikenotaira area of Myoko Kogen. It is very easy to reach by car and bus and is accessible all year round.
The pond has a trail running around it that allows you to walk all along the edge of the water.
It takes about 10 minutes to walk around and the path is flat and wide so suitable for everybody.

Imori Pond is different during each season of the year. In winter its buried under the snow, spring brings the beautiful white skunk cabbages to life. Summer the pond is a deep lush green and in autumn the tress tunr beautiful oranges and yellows.

    Q Are there places to eat?

    Yes there are 2 places to grab a bite to eat, Bashouen & Hondorisu.

    Bashouen offers amazing soba noodles and ice creams. They have an all you can eat soba buffet.
    They are only open from spring - autumn.

    Hondorisu is a more traditonal restaurant and also offers hot drinks and coffee.

    Q Can we catch a bus there?

    Yes local buses run there. Please check the homepage link for bus times and details.

    Q How long does it take to walk around the pond?

    Depending how often you stop to take pictures and admire the view around 15 - 20min.

    Q Is there a shop/toilets etc ?

    Yes the visitor centre next to the pond has a small shop with toilets and also staff who can help you. There is also a small museum there.

    Q Is it open all year?

    The pond is of course accessable all year round but the restaurants close during the winter.
